I am back after a long hiatus

Hello anyone that has been following my posts, I am sorry for the long absence away from my blog. I have still been keeping up with training but the demands of work and life have been tough for me to juggle around the different things that I have been doing.

I have been dealing with a lot of imposter syndrome and analysis paralysis in business and with work. Having a problem dealing with where I want to be and what I want to do. I think many others can probably relate to this feeling so I thought to myself, might as well blog about it.

Something that jiujitsu has taught me is that

  1. Consistency is key
  2. 1% everyday will build on itself after years

This is something that I can directly apply to my life currently, trying to juggle around so many different ideas that I have become paralyzed (figuratively) with so many options. What does jiujitsu have to do with any of this? If we only watch jiujitsu technique videos over many years without actually applying the knowledge and testing it out in the real world, would you still be as dangerous as someone that consistently trains, without watching any videos? The answer is, as you probably guess, no! We cannot just rely on watching and studying to help us grow, it is the action of doing that produces results and builds consistency.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw a little update on here because as I was cleaning my gmail I noticed that there were some readers and followers that chose to read about me, for that I am grateful. If you guys are reading this, let me know what you’d like to know more/tips I can write about and maybe I can turn this into more of a community rather than me rambling on about my nothingness in this world haha.

How I got into Jiujitsu…

I got into Jiujitsu in a late time of my life, it started after I had been training regularly for 4 years in kickboxing. I came to the realization one day that I had absolutely was getting taken apart by bigger fighters during practice – I’m only 5’6 and fought guys 5’9 and taller with a minimum of +30lbs on me!

I had tried jiujitsu once when I was training kickboxing and had been completely clueless and lost as to how to survive. Needless to say my ego took a huge beating and I did not ever try again after that one class.

Four years after I finally decided to try out Jiujitsu again just to test myself and see what skills I really had in me and whether I could be good at the sport. There could have been a lot of reasons as to why I stuck with it but I would have to say a main contributing factor was that I found the right gym, the Budo team.

Since beginning in 2016 I have never looked back and instantly fell in love with it once I started. Today I have a competitor when I have the time but do love to keep up with the latest techniques that are evolving ALWAYS.

The reason I am starting this blog is to practice ranking my blog to gain readers and visitors to prove that I am able to take the self taught knowledge of SEO and content and apply it in a way to create an opportunity to show people in the industry that although I did not go to school for digital marketing that I am determined to learn and keep up with the ever evolving landscape of SEO – just like jiujitsu.
